A letter from the FHF President
Firstly I hope everyone is enjoying the Spring Season 2021. I would like to thank several volunteers as always but Rob Joubert, Systems Director comes to mind first. Rob organizes the schedule, sends out system-wide emails, and for the past 6 weeks has been manning the snack shack, getting game cards and the game clock running. Rob has been the point man for most of our zoom/google virtual meetings over this past year and we are extremely glad he returned to California after 8 years in New York.
We will be running CalCup 50 during the July 4th long weekend (mostly July 3,4,5 but Supers will play on Friday). It will have a much smaller footprint as we will not have a big foreign team component due to Covid but it is our 50th year and we would be remiss if we let it slide. We understand the lateness of our announcement but like much of this year, this was dictated by State guidelines and playing on a state-run campus. We literally received our agreement from Moorpark College less than a week ago.
In order to make this a successful reality, we will need all the local clubs to sign up this week so we can issue a go/no go for respective divisions. We have friends who want to bring many youth teams from Florida but they need to know that there are places for their players to play.
We will be hosting an FHF monthly meeting at Jax Pizza (530 New Los Angeles Ave UNIT 101, Moorpark, CA 93021) at 6.00 pm Wed night June 2nd for regular FHF info. At 7:30 pm I would like to invite anyone interested in CalCup 50 helping out/providing teams and team players to attend. Marc Bakerman is the point person and will have a list of areas where our FHF players and parents can volunteer and make our 50th a fun and enjoyable event. If you already know that you have teams to register, please go straight to the CalCup website.
If you have questions about the League or CalCup please direct them to Systems Director (SoCalFHF@gmail.com) initially and he will forward them to the appropriate person on the FHF board.
Thanks and looking forward to Calcup 50.
